Hey friends! Let's introduce ourselves. I'm Joseph.
I'm a kid from Michigan, now on my way to hitting my quarter-centennial in Denver. I'm from a family of 9, and I'm self taught—never went to college, or have had formal education of any sort, for design or otherwise—and that fuels my hunger to create and build and learn.
I'm in love with language and all its beautiful and meaningful representations, primarily lettering and typography. I love bringing language to life in dimensions, motion, or just a beautiful script, fine-tuned with all the minutiae that go with designing letterforms.
Music is also a huge part of my life, and I play (unofficially) 7 instruments. I listen to an odd variety of musical genres—I gravitate toward late Classical, Romantic and 20th c. composers, Hendrix-esque rock & roll, and indie.
Where are you from, how does that shape who you are, and what drives you to get where you want to go?
