Lemon crème oreos
Procured by Catherine
After much time with these newfangled flavored Oreos, one has to worry where they are going with them. I mean, obviously it’s making them a ton of money, but there will have to come a point where they stop eventually, right? It is to that end that we bring on the next flavor, a nice summer one... Lemon Crème Oreos.
I did not receive these as a full package, but as a sample present from Cat. Therefore I cannot tell you what the concentrated new bag smell is like… only what came to me when I opened the sandwich bag. It has a light scent, smelling stronger of the cookie than the flavored crème. This is an interesting change of pace, since the majority of these flavors have over powered the nose before making it to your mouth.
Vanilla oreo + pale yellow crème. Nothing about this cookie screams for your attention. It is simple in its form, and while you will notice the cream against the biscuit, the whole presentation hides in plain sight, far less glitzy and glamorous than the other recent flavors.
Biting into it, you will be shocked to find the subdued appearance is hiding a beast inside. A potent lemon flavor fills your mouth, like you are eating a slice of lemon cream pie. Tart and refreshing, it is like well-made lemonade on a hot summer day… only it is refreshing for your desire for cookies, not a cold beverage.
A respectable cookie, one I am happy to look to for relief of my snacking desire. With a sharp lemon taste, you certainly won’t be disappointed. With just the right amount of power behind the flavor, this is one of Nabisco’s better cookie efforts lately.
