The theme Venus vs. Mars instantly evokes a Bowie-esque aesthetic; futuristic, sensitive, and androgynous. A recent, conversation with a friend resonated with the theme, as emotionally charged ideas about sexuality and fluidity were explored. Lines can be blurred not only between gender, but also sexual preference. This blurring can contribute to Martian emotions of aggression and fury, or a Venusian acceptance for love and sensitivity. This set focuses on the latter, including blurring and the trademark blue colours that represents Venus. The garments used are by Alicja Teper, and are entitled "Catharsis" - the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.
Inspired heavily by colour, narrative, and the drama of her local Jurassic Coastline in Dorset, Josie's heavily researched concepts recently earned her a first class degree in fashion photography, and a passion for Creative Direction.
