I'm back on @ello!
I've been gone for a little while, but it's been for a good reason:
A few months ago, some friends and I were asked to compete in the Think Like a Genius Foundation Challenge as Young American's team. The challenge was to come up with a way to help Denver's homeless youth. There were some great ideas presented that day, like Red Alert, an effort to get tampons to homeless women who desperately need them. My team's idea involved using technology to mobilize the city's resources and get them to those in need in a calculated, quantitative way. We placed third.
We spent our price money and figured that was the end of it. But a couple months ago, we got a call from child services. They'd heard of our idea, and they wanted us to bring it to reality.
Ever since that afternoon, we've been working our butts off along some of the most dedicated people in the city to bring our project to life. I know I'm being very abstract about what our project is, but it's necessary until we get further along our goal. I'll keep you updated.
