Bio: Samantha Keller is a photographer currently based in Colorado. Her main focus is female energy through film photography.
Statement: You can't see much of a community when I'm shooting but it's there. You can feel it. I think that's why I am so drawn to multiple exposures of the same model or a prism effect, creating this idea that there is more to the photo than just a singular subject: that we all come from something and have depth. It takes a village to raise us and I love trying to capture that in photos by focusing on what makes people beautiful: the eyes of her father, the freckles of her mother, the unspoken moments and memories of a childhood raised by others who also contributed to their identity, good and bad. One thing is for certain: community creates daughters who grow stronger by the day.
Modeled by Sierra Smith and Mel Mikel.
