I haven't really been that social recently, and I feel bad about sticking my head in my notebooks and not interacting with people as of late. My life is kinda junked up right now, and I barely have time to figure out how I feel about it all. My dad is going to be admitted from the rehabilitation center into a nursing facility today in an attempt to get him in good enough condition for the three-hour trip to Baylor Cancer Center in Dallas. At this point, they're regularly draining fluid from his chest and abdominal cavities, but he's not fit for scans so we don't know where the tumors have currently spread. In March, tumors had formed in two non-lethal lymph nodes, so it's possible they've spread to more nodes. His insurance wanted to send him straight to hospice but we were thankfully able to beat a skilled nursing facility out of them.
For now, he's in good spirits, comfortable and has everything in order so no one has to worry. Of course, I've taken on most of the financial and legal responsibilities, but I'm thankful for things to keep me busy. #barislife
