What do I do? I get asked that a lot. And I have a generic answer that doesn't seem to satisfy, but is absolutely true. I work in the theatre. I am a theatrical professional. Yeah. Vague, right?
Here's the thing. In this field, there are very few people who only do one thing. "What do you do?" "Oh, I'm a Lighting Designer" "...Director" "...Actor" etc. But even those people have most likely worked, studied, created in other positions in the field. I can't think of a single Director who I know who didn't start out as an Actor. And the fact that these people can then self-identify as ONE of these things is great for them. Something leads them there, passion, laziness, focus, whatever. Not so for me.
I get bored. B O R E D.
So, here I am, doing it all.
I suppose the Ello may be the platform where I explore this idea further. But for now, I've got to finish putting together box office details, marketing materials, and rehearsal schedules for a combined total of 15 shows. (All to be finished before christmas...)
