When is an image finished? When I’m doing abstract stuff I never quite know. Making an abstract image is not like, for instance, representing a human body. You don’t know where each part must go for the image to be complete. Which is why I’m drawn to abstract art. Not knowing is always a fun ride. It’s like letting go of the wheel and going weeeeeeeeee!
Well, I may not be able to calculate when an image will be complete upfront, but I can tell when it’s hungry and when it’s full; when it needs something and when it can’t take anymore. The image above stagnated for a moment at a certain stage. Something was lacking. Then it hit me - it needed neon yellow cone thingies! Boom - it was ready! I think...
