I get so mad when I see posts where homeschooling is getting bashed, saying it should be illegal, etc. But I never say anything. Because I was homeschooled (unschooled really, yes that's a thing) all my life till college, but the other part of my childhood was, my dad was abusive. So I don't feel like I can point to that as a shining example of how great homeschooling can be. Like, I always tested in the 99% percentile on the standardized tests we had to take every year, and I graduated "highschool" when I was 16, and I went to college and graduated cum laude from there. Academically I did well. But I was also an abused child and have professionally diagnosed anxiety disorder and probably complex ptsd from that and I am not emotionally/mentally the most healthy person. So like... I can't say "I was homeschooled and I turned out fine!" because I am not fine.
