The second EMDR session was much more intense than the first one. The memory we worked on was powerful and overwhelming, and at the beginning tears wouldn't stop flowing. As we processed it I quickly felt how it changed, or rather how my perception of it changed. The event is still the same; my feelings are different and much more positive now.
I am exhausted both physically and mentally and I know I won't have fully recovered until the next session, but this is a small price to pay. I am very hopeful that after this string of eight EMDR sessions I will have made tremendous progress in my path to dealing with PTSD.
