My name is Monika Mitkute, A.K.A Dream2bapencil.
I was born in Lithuania, and I have lived in Dublin, Ireland since 2006. Nature and whimsy are the main themes which influence my intricate artwork, a mix of memories and fragments from long lost folktales. The hand drawn pieces form surreal worlds populated by unique characters. The detailed drawings invite the viewer to explore the artwork, to be intimate and perhaps experience emotions and memories. The mediums I mostly use are fine tipped pens and pencils on smooth watercolour paper. I finally made the decision to become a full time artist in 2016.

Painting is like silent poem, said Simonides, poet from ancient Greece.Paintings are icons, doors to the Platonian world above the heavens. Paintings on my blog are just those icons, which lead a viewer into the magic world of harmony and beauty. Artists who present their achievements on my blog have a very different cultural and national background, they represent variety of artistic traditions and schools

The artist creating at the interface of forms, structures and domains. His works are often "extended towards the outside", while escaping from a flat surface. Space allows him to play with chiaroscuro, whereas the natural deposits such as dust or fines offer additional structures. He values geometry but likes the air in the plastic arts as well.
He gets inspired by all the stimuli and impressions he experiences. A Polish poster school, nature, New York passers-by, "Master and Margaret." Love. He closes them in a painted pictogram.
He feels his artistic world as isolated and more sensitive in a sense. For him the art brings together traumas and problems,
Poems by Hali J. Cross (@hjcross_poetry)
My poetry is often the unraveling of my deepest thoughts. I find ordering them into poetry can give me clarity. I might also include the occasional short story. Sometimes, it is raw and transparent. Other times, it may be a way for me to release some destructive thinking with sarcasm. However, all of it is me.
*A few of my poems are featured in Thorn Literary Magazine: @thornlitmag in the Elloverse
