I use fragments of imagery from fashion magazines and ads as a visual source, mixed with images of historical paintings. With these elements I attempt to reconstruct humankind's distorted relationship to nature and art history. The act of the detailed painting process transforms the unintentional to intentional, in a way charging the pieces, adding value and significance. I see splicing and fragmenting as representative of our fast paced, media driven, low attention span culture and how we have come to experience and manage the world around us.
