On average it costs ($6.5M to build one mile of Interstate Highway) and costs ($0.43 per mile to operate an automobile). As much as you love and admire your car, the roadway is the often overlooked and under-appreciated portion that makes driving such a great experience. In my opinion a car is and will always be the best way to travel. Sadly public roads are subject to the tragedy of the commons, where any single person has little incentive to do their best to preserve the roadway, in other words meaning roads are going to need to be repaired. Currently the best course of action is to maintain the overlooked and under-appreciated infrastructure that allows driving to be so great. Therefore I would like to appeal to you, my reader, to help me buy/build a better road, but I can't do it alone, it's going to take your support in raising the current 21 year old gas tax to a number that can maintain an infrastructure that has had 21 years to grow. I hope you agree and that the road to the future might be little less bumpy. Thank you!
