Just to give a good start to your day, guys, I´ll leave here some pics of CALICO wallpaper (http://calicowallpaper.com/collection/), which is an absolutely delicious detail for a delicious interior. Wondering what Morris would say about this tender veins brought down to the paper?
Those guys, the founders of CALICO, say to have spent a great deal of time studying Sumingashi and Ebru (antique tecniques of paper marblin in Japan and Turkey), which I believe when admiring the result.
This is a totally luxurious stuff that plays the prima´s role in any interior, although I don´t really like the framed example - some self-confident guys from the Near East would have covered teh entire hall with this opulent deep-blue-and-golden wallpaper which is a real work of art. There are a better examples, however.
Searching out for the marbling tecniques, used by these folks - Ebru (the Turkish one) and Sumingashi (from Japan), the work of PUCAPLA STUDIO came to mind. Their beautiful scagllola tables are definetely a tendancy with this grafic irregular base, which can later become a classic. C'est coûte pas cher (€320 for the green table, €560 - the yellow one) being an invertion into the design history and it will last for ages.
It´s all about these textures! A faux-marbe table in a faux-marble room. Somwhere in ancient Rome would have appreciated the style.
