Exactly 10 years ago right now I was getting ready to embark on one of the more interesting adventures of my life.
THE KREDDIBLE TROUT (part of the) WORLD TOUR 2010 brought me on a meandering road trip from my (then) home in Victoria BC to San Diego California to participate in the ArtWalk festival down there.
Intending to include it as part of the exhibit/display I blogged the trip all the way down (and back, which proved to be even more interesting), collecting materials in thrift shops to build my 'uniquely mounted' pieces once I arrived. Having photo outings and sleeping on the couches of people I'd only ever met on various photography social networks on the way down. Meeting small town snooty roller-derby gangs, thrift shop owners who claimed to be in witness protection, breakfast pancakes and sausages at old logging villages being told some horrible history of the area, solving breakfast restaurant mysteries, shooting the freaks of LA on the beach and on the walk of fame, hanging with old high school friends, eating confusing meals with an imaginary Chinese cowboy, an earthquake, a human hurricane... geez the list goes on. I could tell you all about it, but I already did, it's here on this blog! Which is why I'm posting this.
There are lots of highlights, which are linked at the top of the blog, but there's so much in there that I forget... like, Kevin Bacon's doppelganger... it's wild. Wild, man.
It was a fantastic adventure and I can easily believe it was 10 years ago. Seems longer.
anyway, you know what to do:
