Be Leavin' You, Panama (Revised)
[Song to be rerecorded and reuploaded again later. Thanks!]
There's a purpose and meaning
I believed, in the look in your eyes
There's more good to remember
I believed that the past had a future and not in goodbyes
And I'm not sure the reason why
Doesn't mean I didn't try
[falsetto] Oh, I surely believed
That the good times aren't over
But I believed that it wasn't so easy to be swept by blue skies
And I must know the reason why
To have and fold in Panama
There will be an answer
I believed, in your girlish smile
Not in false celebrations
But I'd heard of the place where the spirit of happiness dies
And I think I know the reason why
But that don't mean that I won't cry
Oh no no no no no no no no no no no no, I know
Now oh oh, [falsetto] Ahhh ohhh I know
So here I am waiting and I've made mistakes
And it's worth conceding it may be too late
And the one and three persons that mattered the most is now two
Tho I know only on one side that's true
But I believe, I believed in you
I believed, I believe in you
I believed, I be leavin' you
UPDATE 3: Strange, but I got a very quick reply to my appeal and they said they found my account was still active, rather than saying it had been terminated and they had restored it. I'll post the screenshot of the termination notification below. That said, I do have a good understanding of what likely happened. Google uses a proprietary tool called ContentID to scan all content for markers that would indicate something is too similar to a copyright protected work. Lots of stuff still slips thru, but I figure the super computer running the ContentID algorithm on new posts flagged my post and automatically terminated my account. This protects Google from a constant hailstorm of complaints. I suppose when I appealed they compared to their file of how close my post was to something else and decided it wasn't close enough for them to be bothered putting a human on the case and so simply restored my account. The fact they don't admit this is simply them protected their IP in how this tool works. See below for screenshot showing my account was terminated. For now I am leaving the song down. It was an a Capella rough cut I'll repost when I have something closer to a studio version. Cheers.
UPDATE 2: Just in case and to avoid the possible hassle and interruption of travel posts here, I have removed the song lyrics as well. I was inspired and spent a long time composing the song; however, it could be it's too close to something I heard on the radio. I'll have to wait and see what Google says. But if it is a violation, as in too close to something I've heard in the past, it would violate Ello's terms as well, so better safe than sorry as I don't want my Ello account terminated as well. Thanks for understanding.
UPDATE: Inexplicably, my YouTube account has been terminated. So the links to the song below will not work for you. Apologies.
Google says they send an email explaining in these cases, but I don't have one. I posted a Help request, asking why and indicating I had written and recorded the song myself, which is also meant to be followed by an email from them, but hasn't been so far. Fascinating.
This is likely the result of the new copyright regime in the USA of what is called, Notice and Take Down, wherein is someone lodges a copyright complaint, the content is immediately taken down and the poster must prove it is theirs. Not sure how long that takes or what's required.
Sad that they immediately terminated my account as well, tho. Ah well. Hope you enjoyed the song while it lasted. Maybe an indication it was a good song? Hahahahaha.
