So I'm structuring TUBE as a thriller, but I'm sort of turning it inside out. The conventions are the same, but the content of the conventions is different. The main character is the investigator, but she investigates the crime that occurred in the past and was brought by her 5-year-old self into the present. So the victim is her 5-year-old self whom she needs to save from the perpetrator who is her dead father. Talk about crazy.
There will be all the typical conventions, the MacGuffin, the red herrings, the speech in praise of the villain, the false ending, the clock, only in essence the main character saves herself in her own head, and in the end she realizes that that's exactly what she did.
Tell me my mind is not insane. I don't know how I came up with it, but to me it makes perfect sense.
