Talk about serendipity. Or magic. Or I don’t know what to call it.
I used Balanchine’s Serenade ballet as the basis for my book, and while researching the music itself, Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky, stumbled on Anna Karenina ballet where the same music was used! And my main character is reading Anna Karenina! And she dies under the train! Boom! It just all collided!
In the next draft I will change Serenade ballet to Anna Karenina and simply call it Anna. Or something. There is Russian ballet, choreographed by Boris Eifman, here it is, but I like German choreography better, done by Christian Spitting, and though it's not set to Tchaikovsky music, it doesn't matter. I can make it anything I want it my book.
