Got carried away by nostalgia today. Again.
On Russian trains tea was always served in nickel plated tea glass holders with faceted glasses inside so that the hot glass wouldn't burn your fingers and there would be no scalding accidents on the moving train.
And so I was writing it into my book and reminiscing on the holders. With time they became works of art, plated with silver and gold and going for crazy amounts of money, and I wish I had one. I don't. I should've stolen one on my last train ride in Russia, like a true Russian.
Oh, and here is a little video, and though it's an ad and a bit cheesy, it captures the mood of the trains in Soviet Union back as I remember them.
