First day in Flensburg.
I took the train from Copenhagen to Gråsten (3 hours) and the Bus to Flensborg. Quite easy.
My goal is to walk from Flensborg to Sønderborg. A nice 3 days walk, with room for a lot of sightseeing.
Flensborg was a part of Denmark until 1864, when the Danes got beaten by the Germans and lost a Big chunk of Jutland.
After the 1. World War there was a public voting in the Region, and the inhabitants could choose to be a part of Denmark og Germany. Sønderborg became a part of Denmark again and Flensborg was now forever called by the name Flensburg.
Flensburg is very charming, with it’s small harbour and you feel the history all around you.
On day two I am going to visit one of the museums, get a fish burger, before I cross the border on foot.
