Pondichérry, Moutou from Satya Special School
I spent a few weeks in Satya Special School, a school for indian disabled children. Almost all of them were orphans and/or had huge visible scars on there faces, bodies. The belief in India is that disabled children are a divine punition on the mother who committed a sin. Many of those kids are therefore beaten, when lucky not to death and grow up hidden in caves or such places, even though it is scientifically proven that there’s a high chance that those kids were born that way because the mothers don’t get enough food and give birth in horrible conditions.
