May be an early post but important -help me out eh?
John (Jack) Bowskill is one of the 87 remembered on our memorial. He died of his war wounds on May 26th 1923 leaving a wife and two daughters. One of whom, Olive, who is in her nineties will be attending our documentary screening on 22nd November. Because John died after the cut off for the War Graves Commission to provide military headstones he rests in St Peter's Churchyard in an unmarked grave. Olive has dreamt of having a headstone on her Dad's grave but the cost (iro £1600) has always been prohibitive. We now intend to make that dream come true. We have started a collection and have commenced the process of obtaining and installing a military type headstone on John's grave. We obviously need support from the community.
