Leighton Medved - Photographer from Cleveland, Ohio.
My current portfolio as I am in the process of starting my photography business here in Cleveland. More to come in my upcoming trips this year!
My interest in art has been with me my whole life, starting with sketches and drawings of random items in grade school and YouTube videos which got me into content production. It was not until the year 2010 when I got my first smart device. This gave me access to new sites such as Instagram which got me into photography. After moving on from my tablet's camera, I purchased a digital pocket sized camera my sophomore year of high school. As time went on I worked with a new digital camera that I got for Christmas (shots above taken with it) and later purchased Photoshop and Lightroom. The interest kept growing and I now own my first professional camera along with studio equipment that I plan to use for my first business.
Dazed and Confused
The shots above were taken in my years of high school when I was around the age of 17. The original shots were black and white photos of trees. These were shot straight up from the ground, giving a clear shot of the sky and bare branches. After revisiting my folder of shots taken on my old beginners camera (Nikon Coolpix L830) I saw new potential with the amateur shots.
The first edit was intended to give an unrealistic look to nature, with the heavily saturated blue sky and mistakenly edited trees which now look like they were digitally traced in a bright pink color. The colors in this shot create a new environment that is now a home to a new digital fantasy.
The second edit was intended to give the dark vibe it now holds. A dark red sky with the twisted and fragmented trees that are no longer recognizable. This new setting is a home to darkness and confusion and to me is seen as escaping it through the beauties of nature.
We are back and forth.
