In principle I can understand & sympathize that they want their jobs back. But really burning coal are not the only jobs. Cutting down centuries old forests at a rate impossible for them to recover is not the only way to make money. The keystone pipeline is not worth destroying the environment nor the Native American heritage sites.
Solar panels need workers to assemble & manufacture them. Wood can be farmed sustainably. New industries are coming. Destroying the earth as a short-term stopgap solution only works in the short term.
If my holding fast such FACT-BASED opinions makes us enemies then so be it.
