"I won't lose anything." I say, losing my cool over an expired credit card.
The store is set up differently than I am used to. There is an always hiring terminal set up near the front where new residents of the city may fill out an application.
I'm on the phone with the bank robot, setting up my pin.
"It will just be a minute, ma'am." I say.
She starts ringing other people up, passing their items over ours.
"This place is more like a grocery store than a dollar store." I tell Musette.
"Maybe that's just how it works around these parts." she says.
