Shooting homicide in my town early this morning. Not much in the way of details yet, other than the victim was a 21-year old male. Kind of surprised something like this hasn't happened sooner, what with all the gun nuts around.
Update: The victim was a young man from my son's class in school, though not a close friend (but in a class of 75 you do know everyone). Details are still slim, but the police have said that he was shot in the face after a dispute with another male, who left the scene. They don't have anybody in custody, but it seems they may know who did it.
So isn't it great that everybody just has to have a gun? Just think, if there was no gun handy the dispute would have probably ended in a fistfight. How many people would be alive today in situations like this if there had not been a gun easily available? Quite a few.
It disgusts me, this obsession with guns.
