It's decorative gourd season, motherfuckers.
I made Michael go to the Spirit Halloween store with me today. It wasn't as fun the second time around. I had a good laugh the first time I went. Today, it all seemed so contrived. The hyper-sexualized costumes for women are appalling (not to mention the racist elements in many of them). The creepy clowns and babies and zombies leave me bored. It's so commercialized, and if you think about it really generic. People all over are buying the same stuff to decorate for Halloween, rather than coming up with something clever on their own.
I always find it difficult to dress up for Halloween. I like the idea in theory, but in practice I'm just too lazy to put together something fun. Enter - Collegeville costumes! Yesterday I got a great one on Ebay.
Hoo hoo, hoo hoo!
I would love to get a bunch of these masks and hang them in the living room window for decoration, along with my creepy dolls and a few clowns. But it will take a while to collect the masks, as they aren't exactly cheap. I already have some dolls...
I'm glad the spooky season is here. It's fun.
