For the most part, I'm not a fan of G+. It's better than FB, but never really grabbed me. Except for one thing...
Auto-Awesome! Before I had my iPhone, I was envious whenever a friend posted a photo that had been tweaked by the mysterious algorithms. Recently, I finally joined the ranks of iPhone users. Please G+, please... do mine!
And so they did. Here are a couple of our trailer. The first was actually taken by @kelpmaiden, during our 101º trip to Newhalem. The second is mine from this past weekend.
The first really captures the feeling of how HOT it was that day, or at least it does for me. Sort of like a sauna in the woods. All of our plans for hiking the trails in the area were thwarted by the heat. We sat in the creek instead, and didn't otherwise move much. It was a great time.
This second pair are two versions of the same shot - the original, above. Well, the auto-awesome of the original. The second is auto-awesome of the Instagram crop. Until I delete them from my phone, the different versions lurk around and G+ sometimes saunters in and has a go.
Someday I may actually have the time and inclination to do something like this on my own, but for now I'll take the random free photo enhancement service G+ dishes out.
Because who else could make this photo of a bench and garbage can look so good?!!
I won't lie. I took this photo specifically hoping that G+ would take it on, and they delivered.
Maybe one CAN second-guess their algorithm...
