Your depressed, medieval assumptions
Were dressed in jigsaw colors.
Your jaw was set against hilarity.
You were sick to death of my cinematic gumption.
A snarling hero is a precious rarity,
You asserted with sincerity.
I’ll take possibility over certainty.
I’ll take murky poisons over mental clarity.
The mushrooms are a fixture.
The crickets an alarm.
We call this common fever.
I’ll probably promise
To “do no harm.”
