I posted this on Instragram yesterday with the following caption.
"Many people who join Instagram tend to forget that it is a community. If you only follow the people whom you think are influential or useful to you, then you are excluding many people who are genuinely talented, whom you can learn from, and whom can help you in the long term. My policy has always been to follow talented and good people, regardless of who they are or whether they are well known or not. Believe me, a phoney is easily spotted. So, be authentic. "
This is true anywhere and everywhere on social media, and applies here too.
Ello is a great place, and when it first started it was a level playing field. However, I wonder sometimes if its changing. Perhaps it's my perception, but in it's drive to be recognised as a 'creative platform', it could be in danger of going the same way as Society 6, Threadless, Dribbble. Behance etc. The creative world is huge, there is more to be discovered and enjoyed than the narrow field (and age range) that those other platforms solely focus on.
Let's work hard to keep Ello unique and uphold it's original ethos.
