Black nothingness moving right to left relentlessly attempting to swallow moving light on the road beneath the monstrous Milky Way cloud hanging, seemingly within reach, above the great boulder bordering campsite #1 at Belle.
Ah, sweet aloneness.
Sweet, sweet star connection again, at last.
’Twas only last night you guided me up. Straight up. A black elevator deep inside your womb till I was creating a home there, within you. Right angles like back on earth only defined by light and intense color. A place I could return to.
Just when it counted most.
Just as ordinary, opaque guilt closed in.

I wouldn’t know until I hooked up with my cousin in San Diego.
I’d licked the first two enemies,
Desire would turn to need when the 150 bucks I had left was gone.
Then it was gone.
Me, Kathy, Todd, (my cousin), inside fabulous jacuzzi.
Todd: Dude, stay here. But you need to find work.
Kathy: No he doesn’t.
Todd: He does.
Me: Look, I will. Promise.
Kathy: Must be tough, though, Robbie, getting rejected.
Me: A second time.
Todd: You pursued something extraordinary.
Me: Without backup. So bloody stupid…
Kathy: We’ve got you.
Todd: Just find work. Just start again. In the meantime…
He reached behind him for something on the redwood deck, lifted a small, heart shaped mirror upon which three long lines of a silvery white powder rested, held it just above the bubbling water,
moon wiggling oddly in its reflective surface.
