Lucianna is inspired by the human need to feel important, as well as by the city of Los Angeles itself. Often finding trash along the streets of LA, she is inspired by their aesthetics and by the weird things she finds that humans have used and thrown away. She started creating mixed media pieces with this trash, even using “trash” as a canvas in many pieces. Not only are the pieces aesthetically pleasing, but they also tell a story. They tell a story of the kind of people, as well as consumers, who live in the streets of LA, and about the kind of city LA is itself. As she creates these aesthetically pleasing pieces, sometimes minimalistic and other times wildly textured and full of controlled chaos, she presents something worthy of thinking about, as well as something of monetary value. Perhaps inspiring people to look at the world and the human existence/role in said world on a grand scale, outside of the self. If people buy trash, or art, then this idea of ones own consumerism is perhaps brought to forefront, allowing people room to think about their standing in this great world of made up rules and regulations and of great consumption.
