Tokyo based drawer
After being an magazine art director and designer for 20 years in Amsterdam, I moved to Tokyo 4 years ago and changed my career to drawing. I widely use the looseness and temperament of my Spanish origins in all my work, trying to keep my drawings dynamic and alive. Tokyo streets, people and animals are constants that come back to my work. Some call my drawings cinematic or "moment capturing" but always with a dash of humor, I think life should be lived with a smile.
I consider simple ink and watercolor drawing a powerful medium in response to the current flatness and vector ridden imagery we see nowadays in fashion. Ink marks on paper have the power to transfer the energy of the hand that traced them. I try to convey that energy in all my lines.
