Umberto Daina is born in Palermo in 1979. In 2002 he moves to Florence where he attends the University of Architecture and collaborates with his teachers as videomaker, making video-documentaries about urban planning and urban sociology. Since 2004 he leads seminars, workshops and lectures in various faculties, academies of fine arts and Italian institutions. In 2011 he starts teaching "3D Animation" at the Accademia Italiana of Florence. Since 2006 he is also a freelance filmmaker and graphic designer. In 2016 he collaborated with Pantone LLC as Cover Artist.

I have an unhealthy obsession with food. I'm that person at social gatherings talking about the food, food fads, food politics, nutrition, and all manner of food related interesting-to-no-one-else musings. My most vivid memories are the best meals I've ever had (ask me, I can describe them to you, including who I was with, where I was...) and I realized a long time ago that I had to learn how to cook or I would be perpetually broke from eating out. Because I wouldn't be eating at my local Mickey-D's - I'd be out for sushi or at a steakhouse.
