Since this book was published in 1997 by the time I redesigned this it was 2018, so most cover ideas have already been designed. For Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, I wanted to design something different from the cliche: Hogwarts Castle, showing harry potter and etc. I still wanted to stay true to the story, so I pushed myself to find images that represent the story.
I found a section of the novel where Harry reads the list of items needed for Hogwarts. I chose 4 items: pointed hat, black robe, the study books, and an owl. I found these items important because they are items Harry is expose while learning about being a wizard and about Hogwarts. I made sure to keep the iconic lightening bolt scar in the background and on the back of the book. I decided to make the book Gryffindor colors to represent the house Harry was sorted into.
