Over the years twitter wanes in waves as an appealing service. App.net was an on-again/off-again service for me, Facebook even less so… like, a lot less.
With platforms angling for profitability eclipsing their usefulness and clarity more and more, "social network" has become a term that now means "marketing platform" before all else.
