Discovering a new artist on Ello is always an exciting experience for me, there’s just something about the discovery itself that really lifts the spirit, and that’s exactly what happened when I found @kkreis (Carlota) on Ello.
Carlota is a truly talented photographer with a real eye for abstract imagery, and someone you definitely want to start following if you are not already. For me it didn’t take long to see the similarity between our two styles and that instantly brought to mind an idea for a collaboration. So not knowing what the response would be, or if there would be any response at all, I reached out to Carlota (@kkreis) asking if there would be any interest in creating a diptych together.
I guess as someone who is now a name to collaboration here on Ello (as co-curator of @ellocollaboration) I’m starting to feel a responsibility to the followers/community and therefore have decided to start reaching out to other fellow artists for the opportunity to collaborate, regardless of the possibility of the request being declined. Ask not have not.
Thankfully Carlota said yes, and in doing so we now get to share with you our first diptych together. A collaboration between myself (@brianmichaeljones) and the very talented @kkreis. It’s amazing how similar the two images are, which believe it or not only had a small hairline seam separating the two before it was covered. There were no filters, brushes or special effects used on these images either. What you are seeing is simply two abstract pieces of photography coming together as one.
We hope you all enjoy!
