SAY "ELLO" TO GENERATION Z
"I emailed and asked for a press pass, and I'm too young now, but they said in two years I can get one." That's Joseph, the 14 year old Photographer from the UK, who just summed up the driven, and uniquely entrepreneurial nature, of his generation.
Contrary to the widespread cynicism directed at "Gen-Z", (Generation Z - born after 1995, post the "Millennials" and still currently under 18, broadly speaking*), due to their hyper connected, socially savvy way of operating, they are the first, truly digital, natives; most don't remember a time before smart phones and social media.
So, just incase there's anyone (still, really?) completely under the impression that all these hyper connected kids are doing is using their snap chatting prowess for bad (bullying et al) and just can't "deal" without wifi (yes, because every generation before them handed back the technological progress dealt to them...) well, these guys have been quietly strategising ways to cope with the chaos and uncertainty caused by everyone who came before them, - 73% were effected by the "Great Recession" -, founding companies in their bedrooms, speaking out as passionate advocates for "DIY Education" and self-starting blogs and being creative en masse, in way that's possibly more expansive, and not to mention positive, than ever before.
So, meet Joseph, who's just set up a new Tech Blog "Uber Neon" in his spare time around school, and who wittily devised and took this photo on behalf of Ello Future. We would like to say a big thanks to the ELLO Team for the super cool Snapback (pictured ) and the opportunity to be part of: "...a place to connect, create and celebrate life" in 2015, which is rather spirit a-la GEN-Z, actually!
Love Becky & Lydia xxx
