I am an artist currently based in New York at the State University of New York at Oswego as a student in my sophomore year. I had begun creating in this past July of 2017. I produce work with the goal of sharing pieces of myself, and the people whom I shoot.
At the State University of Oswego, the biggest attraction for students is the vast Lake Ontario which surrounds the school at every end. First coming to the school I was unsure what it would be like, or why the lake was the most cherished part of the town. To learn what the lake meant to other students like myself I decided to spend the time crafting a project with the main subject indirectly being the lake. The lake is used as a time for reflection, and a chance to escape. Many of us passing through these college years are unsure of who we are, what we are doing, or the things that we really want in life. The lake provides a chance for each person to gaze upon the horizon that is their life; looking into the past, or dreaming of the future. The lake in itself is its own separate entity from Oswego; not connected to anything, this is the site where we lose ourselves just to find ourselves once again. This was the first project I had ever done.
