Update : With three Sea Shepherd Ships back in the Faroe Islands, pressure rises on Denmark to explain the role of their Navy and it’s support of the grindadráp.
Captain Wyanda Lublink of The MV Brigitte Bardot states,
“I spent 12 years in the navy myself so I know a little bit about how it works. The role of any navy is to be there for national security and/or humanitarian help. It really surprises me that the Danish navy is here, in full presence, helping the slaughter of pilot whales. Denmark is part of the EU and it’s an anti-whaling nation. We have to stand up and ask the question, why is the Danish Navy supporting the grindadráp?”
This statement comes as an announcement is made that a parliamentary conference will be held in Denmark later this year to discuss its role in the grindadráp.
