ince childhood 3 places have been on my mind where I feel I have some stories attached …It is like a Deja vu, like I’ve been there in my past lives!
That was even before I moved to India…
These places were ringing in my head since the time I was around 8 years old!
Life dragged me to India and got me settled here!
I was so excited to see what is in Egypt … and how I would feel there!
My flight landed at 7am …I had no clue what the date was because when I travel I leave my watch behind! In the early years of my travelling life, I used to leave my phone and work behind too :) Unfortunately with so many responsibilities on me now, I’m unable to do that anymore!
I got a taxi, the hotel was 45 minutes away from the airport and somehow it looked and felt like Tehran … Similar structures, look and feel
I reached the hotel, got ready, and was super excited to see the pyramids!!
Everything was perfect. I got an excellent taxi driver who was behaving like my grandpa, so concerned about me! 😉 He was speaking in Arabic and that was a first time I actually liked the language … I got a helpful guide and got the cutest camel “Madonaa” and a lazy horse called “Nada”!
First thing the guide got for me was a Cleopatra style scarf to prevent sunburns! He then took me to a very quiet corner to be able to look at everything from a perfect spot…The view was serene! I did not want to do what all the tourists usually do! So, I sat down, closed my eyes and simply felt the place! Peaceful …
I really enjoyed it!!! Later on I found out that not everybody got the same review as I did, but as always I guess I was lucky
A close/sweet friend of mine from London connected me to her friends in Egypt. She told me I must meet her friend while I’m there! And yes I realized that as soon as I met them :)
Personally, I love people who believe in the mantra – “NO ordinary life”, people who make their stories worth your time and ears !!! One such person was sitting front of me … He too had a different personality as mine… Not loud and jumpy like me though, but quiet and deep, surely an achiever!!! Couple of his stories made my funky-happening life sound so boring!!! It had been quiet a long time since I was inspired by someone like that…
It was a happy realization that we have beautiful people in this world! It’s just that they are placed in different corners! Omar was the first Egyptian who had climbed the highest seven summits and skied in the north and south poles!
In the midst of all this, I got a message on Facebook … A gentleman asked me if I was a Harley rider and whether I was in Egypt! I replied “Yes” for both the questions!!! He was surprised as to why he had never met me in any of the rides before! I told him I’m based out of India… He said: “You are our guest, let me show you our hospitality!!!”
He came and picked me up and also gave me a bike (a v-rod) and with another rider, the three of us went for an excellent ride around Cairo!!! That’s what I LOVE about the Harley culture! It just connects people in each and every part of the globe! The fact that they are co-Harley riders, gives a sense of faith and instant trust! That is how I made two really sweet friends – Beshoy and Mohammad Karim. Really sweet and lovely people!
Everything made my trip just perfect… I still have a sweet smile on my face when I think of my Egypt trip!
No, I’m not done with Egypt and Cairo!!! I just built strong reasons to get back there as soon as I can!
Love you Egypt and surely will be back to you as soon as I can
