Ello co-founders, Todd Berger & Lucian Föhr, recently announced their departure from Ello. Todd, as CEO, successfully negotiated a strategic partnership with @talenthouse, so that Ello could continue its goal of providing visibility and opportunity for the creative community.
Through the partnership, Ello will remain committed to its core values around personal data privacy and will have new resources to focus on three core areas: 1) Being the editorial voice for the creative world; 2) Building on our community and social tools that enable collaboration and engagement around work and ideas that matter to members; 3) Expand the commercial and e-commerce opportunities for those who endeavor to live through their creativity to get paid. Here’s what we’re still focusing on:
Ello Media/Editorial Voice - Several years ago we made a commitment to the idea of how we provide opportunities and visibility for our amazing members. We leaned into the curated homepage, interviews, documents and curated emails as a way to feature and showcase great work and ideas. Our goal is to expand the ways we do this on the path to becoming the definitive editorial voice of the creative community.
Community & Social Tools - Ello began on the premise that artists and creatives want a different kind of social media platform. The founding values remain, and today more than ever, we believe that expanding the community and social tools for creatives to engage in positive ways around the art and ideas they love is even more important. Our members control what they see and where, and will be afforded more ways to engage with the other members, and work and ideas that they value.
Expanded E-commerce & Commercial Opportunities - Through our partnership with Talenthouse we have expanded opportunities to the Creative Invites their brand partnership brings. We will continue to seek brand collaborations for our community, and expand the tools and means for members to market their work.
The remaining Ello team is excited about the future and committed to the founding values and to enhancing the ways we can help creative souls live through their passions and engage with like-minded people in positive ways.
