Young Child from the Norwest of Argentina. She lives in a very small community located in Aguas Blancas, a Biodiversity Reserve in Catamarca. The day i took this photo, the few families that lived there were getting together to fight for better living conditions. they live very far from the city and don't have any kind of services (water, light or gas).
This beutiful girl has come with her grandmother, she has no shoes and her cheeks were already red because of the cold wind that goes down from the Andes Mountain.
Hello Art Community! Mi name Is Martina Gainza, i am 25 years old and i live in Mar del Plata, a city in the East coast of Argentina.
Since i am 18 i have been travelling around America, photoshooting, painting and surfing. I am an environmental technician, and actually i am studying Cinematography and Visual Arts in the local university, Escuela de Artes Martin Malharro.
I have found in the visual arts (paint, draw, photo and filmming) my own languague to communicate a message. A message that can produce a change, and can reach all kinds of people, with no difference. Images that can be understand by everyone, not only the the ones that belongs to the art circle, that sometimes is very exclusive. i am not interest in money, i am interest in trying to give my hand and knowledge to make a better world.
As my grandfather was a photographer i have had a camera near me since i was a child. I love taking pictures of landscape and people. I don t use photoshop a lot, so most of my photographies are not edited. I like to take pictures that reflect the daily and common life of people, that can leave us some message after looking at it. Each picture i have taken has a long history behind!
During my travels i have been in close contact with diferent communities. When i travel, i go with the local people, learning their culture and share their way of living. In 2015/2016 I was travelling with my friend in central america, filming a documentary about central america surfing spot with a different point of view, guide by the local point of view, showing the local music and art (and the waves and local surfers girls). we were filmming in 7 countries (all supported with our own savings, and making trades). we were also painting murals with the local kids and teaching them how to do recycled wallets. But in Cuba all the material was stolen. So i am planning to do it again next year.
i am a painter also. I been painting since i am a child, and i do it in different sizes, surfaces and formats. i like sharing and gift my art to the local people that open the doors of their house, or just appear in my way.
i would love to travel and be part of this smiling Gecko initiative. i am a young girl ready to travel and learn from other people and artists. i really believe i have still a lot to learn!
