Film has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. First I aspired to be a film critic and studied linguistics and film. The overdosis of theory made me switch to journalism, where I got a taste of film editing. And now, years later, more than halfway through evening classes in graphic design, I found a new way to express my passion.
Let me introduce you to Double Bill Posters (doublebillposters.tumblr.com) — Sarah Schrauwen’s and mine weekly type & form experiments in the shape of film posters. We watch one or more films every week, and pick one that we each design a poster for. There are some limitations to keep it manageable: we can spend only 1 hour on concept and execution, use only type and/or illustration and no more than 3 colours. This is my poster for Paul Verhoeven’s Total Recall (1990). 👁🔴
