Day 353 - Light the Way
Three things for me and not the Goddess:
Trying, as She will agitate
Doing, as She will delegate
Steering, as She will navigate
I liken the moment I made my commitment to Change to lighting a well-prepared torch. I laid the groundwork, gathering the branch and shaping it. I prepared the flame-bed, drying bark and winding it through and around the cleft end. I added brilliance and longevity, soaking the torch head in heated pitch.
SHE prepared me to strike the spark. She worked on that for all my life, it seems.
And when I lit with a Whoosh of determination and potential She showed me the shadows I cast and how to hold the torch high for my loved ones.
I will be as a blazing torch held high
Marking the night with sacred fire
I will be your strength when the shadows draw nigh
Mark me, follow my lead through twisting gyre
For I am Her Will and I lead the way!
Parent-driven recovery does not have to be bland and submissive. We can lead by attraction when we cannot expect our children to otherwise choose us over their addiction.
