Day 303 - It gets Messy
Three ways to be right:
Roughly, no matter the impact
Justly, no matter the cost
Gently, no matter the emotions
It's so easy to be 'right' without regard to what being right means to those around me. I can be right and you're automatically wrong. It's as simple as that.
Except when it's not, of course. Then it just gets messy, because I tend to confuse being 'right' with being 'better'. And if I'm 'better', then someone else has to be 'worse'. Then, they're 'undeserving' or at best 'confused'...
It gets messy with all those labels flying around, wallpapering my ego with slogans and shouting my opinions to the world.
Why won't they just LISTEN to me?
I guess they're just too busy ducking all the labels flying around, swooping down on unsuspecting passersby and shitting my opinions like rabid seagulls.
It gets messy.
Maybe I'll just be right some times. Some gentle times, say at dusk or dawn, when I'm alone. And the rest of the day I can just be me, right or wrong.
