Time-Based Media: Project One- Elusive Stop Motion
Brainstorming. (Free Write)
Elusive reminds me of something fleeting or just on the cusp of unattainable. My initial thought for this project was to use figurines that I collect as the players in this play. When I collect them, there are levels rarity to each figure. Some are common and easy to find, some are higher in price to their complexity and THEN there some that only have a small window of when they are available. It makes them ELUSIVE. I want to play on that idea and use these figurines I collect to experience their own sense of elusiveness. A goal possibly for these characters to get to. To fight for. To adventure for. All within on minute.
Something about the fragility of these figures makes depicting them to be just as rambunctious as the real characters they represent is interesting and fun. I want the lighthearted nature of these figures and the story they tell reflected my personal view and outlook on life. I think about the Toy Story trope and hope not to really mimic that because inanimate objects coming to life has been done so many time yet the uniqueness comes from each individual producer.
