These are rabbit tracks in my yard. I found them while walking the dog before heading to work. The picture didn't come out too clear, in my defense, it was 4:00 in the morning and the flash would have been exceedingly garish. I love this little village, we get all sorts of creatures stopping by, the bakery down the street put a poster board up for people to write their wildlife sightings with locations and dates and it quickly grew to more and more posters and took over the wall. We get black bears, fisher cats, raccoons, possums, pheasants, turkey vultures, all manner of birds really, even great blue herons and all sorts of raptors. I like to listen to the coyotes howl at night certain times of the year.
We're quite lucky to be bordered on 2 sides with wetlands, good neighbors on the North and a main road to the West, We're never snowed in but can watch deer in the wetlands from our windows. The neighbors keep hens which break out of their enclosure frequently and come round to hunt ticks in our leaf litter and pick up seeds round the bird feeders. They are delightful, I love that chuckling sound they make as they wander about.
I've got a relaxing weekend of decluttering and, hopefully, taking a load of books and clothes for donation, actually removing some of this from the house. That would be a real boost.
