Nik Thursday (@nikthursday)
Writer. Absurdist, surrealist, abstractist, ridiculousist. I usually focus on novels, but I sometimes write short stories, and here I thought I'd share some microfiction that I've been writing lately. As I write it, I'm compiling it into a book called Paradise Fish, and I'm hoping to complete it and publish it as early as June, hopefully no later than August. Most of it is 'shooting from the hip', abstract, surreal, may or may not be funny, bad poetry, haiku gone wrong, anti-literature, ridiculousness.

Rick Veerle (@rickandveerle)
Rick and Veerle met during their study at the Art Academie, they live and together for several years now. After a few years of making art separately they decided in 2011 to combine forces. This resulted in a colourful collaboration where paint and textile meet. Every work is an explosion of lively forms and colours that will shower the spectator with positive energy.

In my art, I study people and their mutual connections. These relationships are a recurring theme. My work is an ongoing study, and each single work is a link, a next step in my process. Each work teaches me something about my relationship towards others, about mutual connections and bonds.
Loneliness, power, control, dependency and trust are recurring themes.

Weaving is my meditation.
I don’t like symmetry. I never have a set plan. Each weave intuitively evolves; an emotion, a thought, a narrative, converged into a tangible woven piece.

My yarn stash is pretty much larger than it should be.

I run and sew for my heart. It's fun!
Working in partnership with the artisan weaver of rugs, GUR invites artists to express themselves on this support with a very specific technique using the same materials with the authenticity of a traditional kitchen rug but now much more fun. GUR can be the first place where you put your feet in the morning, a picnic friend or a frame in your living room. Hopefully the collection will keep on growing with new collaborations, keep on checking then!
