I recently made my return to film photography and bought a Yashica Mat 124G camera. The camera was then sent off to be CLA'd (cleaned, lubed, adjusted). I had the camera for about a week when I was confronted be someone who didn't want their photo taken. He proceeded to yell and then hit the camera so hard it jammed the shutter, the film advance crank, and the photo lens. After getting the camera inspected I've been told that the camera can not be fixed. I've worked on a lot of projects over the last 13 years and have barely been able to fund them. My Ben Franklin Bridge portfolio is well known in and around Philadelphia, and has also been published by several magazines. My huge 1000 photo Philadelphia Project which was published and long sold out as well as being featured in the news and papers. My recent documentary project Little Pete's, one of the last 24 hour diners in center city Philadelphia with was published as a book as well as the local news. I want to keep documenting Philadelphia but I can not afford to replace this camera. My goal is to document the city using these old film cameras for the next decade. I need to replace this camera ASAP. Your support would be greatly appreciated !
